Are you driving an old car?

Post Image - Are you driving an old car?

Hey, I get it. I love driving an old car....they're solid, they're made of good heavy metal, I can open the hood and identify most of the parts I see.

I know I can get more out of a new car....but I'm comfortable with what I drive.

It may not be the best choice

But things have changed over the years. Those old cars are fine to drive on a hot summer weekend and remember my youth. And I like to think they're easy to work on. But the fact is...they're gas guzzling, temperamental beasts prone to rusting out and randomly not starting. And they darn sure don't park themselves like some of todays cars do...

Old cars also don't have the technology we've come to expect in our lives today. Integrated GPS Navigation, low tire sensors, bluetooth connection to your cell phone. Or how about electronic ignition and fuel injection. And of course my new car gets 2-3 times the gas mileage I got 20 years ago.

Same thing for your phone system

If your phone system is 15-20 years know who you's much the same story. Sure, it still works. It still makes and receives calls. You can still put someone on hold and transfer a call to someone else in your office. But there is so much more available in a new system that can make your life easier and your business more efficient.

For instance:

  • VoIP phone lines, save you a lot of money and provide flexibility unmatched in 15 year old technology
  • VoIP phone lines....if you lose power to your building or a disaster happens (like Calgary's flood not so long ago) a VoIP line can AUTOMATICALLY reroute your calls to your cell phone or another office. For free...try that with your 20 year old system without paying the phone company a lot of money
  • Cell phone pairing. Like you can pair your cell phone to your new car, you can also pair it up with a new phone system. So if you're out and someone you are expecting calls your office it comes through to your cell phone. Not someone you wanted to talk to?....leave it and it goes to your company voicemail.
  • Direct Numbers - you can give important areas of your business their own phone number, so your customers can call them directly without having to go through the main switchboard and waiting to be transferred. You customers will LOVE this.

These are just a few of the things you can do with a new system that you can't do with older technology. Call us to discuss the possibilities.

Doesn't it cost a lot?

This is one place where phone systems are not like cars. You would pay $30-$50,000, or more for a car today. In 1990 the average price of a car was $16,000.

Remarkably, phone systems have actually gone DOWN in price. A set up to handle 4 lines and 16 phones in 2000 was around $10,000 a system with the same capacities and waaayyyy more functionality can be had for $6-$8,000 installed.

What do I do next?'s time. You're going to have to give up on the 1995 Chevrolet and see us about getting something new. Don't worry, it costs less than you think...we've even had customers pay for their entire new system with the savings on monthly costs they were paying on their old system when it failed. They said they wished it had failed years ago.

So give us a call at 403-543-6959 and lets see how something new might feel.
