We all like to have new things.....the latest, greatest 'thing'. With some interesting feature that will completely change the way we do things.....and save us time and money to boot. (full disclosure, we profess to do just that when it can actually happen).
But sometimes we simply can't afford to do that.
We have had a number of customers call asking about a new phone system, and after talking about their business, how they used their phone system and what they wanted to achieve we actually recommended not upgrading to a new system. At least not yet.
What they had was working fine for them.
We were still able to get parts and components for the system if something failed. But above all, the system was doing everything they NEEDED it to do for them so it didn't make sense to invest in a new system that would essentially do the same things they were currently doing. Especially in today's volatile business environment where we're all unsure what's going to happen.
Is this a wise choice?
I know this may sound contrary to what you think, and even to what we have written in other posts. The key to this strategy is understanding what's needed, and making sure you can still get parts (quickly) to keep the system running if something fails. Finding out on your busiest day of the year that your phone system power supply is blown and we can't get a replacement, ever, is not fun for anyone. So make the call to your provider and ask...make sure parts are still available. Then you can make an informed decision about upgrading or not for YOUR business.
