For example, the service plan you have selected provides unlimited calling, but on reading the fine print it might state that it is limited to on network calls and not outside. Be wary of other hidden charges related to licensing, usage of certain features and the tech support provided by the service provider. If in doubt, ask for more detailed information/explanation.

Deciding on a provider without researching

The VoIP industry is currently on an upsurge. A number of new service providers have entered the market. If you select a provider that is a new entrant in the industry it might lead to headaches in the long-run. It is advisable to opt for a service provider with a proven track record in the industry, and one that has a number of satisfied customers you can possibly interact with.

Schedule a demonstration to understand exactly what features the VoIP service provider is offering. Often basic services like call forwarding or voice mail are left out.
